Pom Pom Blanket - How to:

We live in a tiny flat, so some sort of free standing cubby house is asking a bit much of the space available. Fortunately it's easy peasy to make your own with sheets and blankets draped over chairs or the clothes drying rack. Here's an idea I came up with the other day to make the cosy cave a little bit more fun.

 1. Pick up an Ikea 'Polarvide' for $2

  

 2. Select your pom poms

3. Adhere pom poms to blanket with glue, leave overnight to dry.

And play!

 Ta da!

Kleines Regal

We are engulfed by an ever expanding universe of toys that need some sort of housing station.. one of my favourite pastimes are projects like this. I had a little bookcase made up to size and although I'm a big fan of the natural, untreated timber look, our living room is a mixture of dark stained timber and white fabrications.. so I washed the outer casing of the shelves with diluted white acrylic paint so that the grain detail in the timber is still visible and painted the back panels in solid blocks of lemon, gold and sunset orange. The toy universe has come to a halt.. for now.

Coffee Table Basket

One of Jona & my favourite spots in our place at the moment is the coffee table basket. There's lots of things happening in there.. our pinecone collection, mini logs from a previous window display, wooden toys, colourful glossy balls, sheets of bark we found from a tree nearby, a brown crocheted ball hand made by a lovely friend & a planet earth that pops colour. I love peering in. I wonder what's happening on your coffee table?

Walls of Colour

Although I enjoyed the previous colour spectrum arrangement of our shelves (the last three shots), baby-proofing our place gave a welcomed opportunity to play around with the colours and objects 'on display'. Lots of fun!

This week in the letterbox..

She's done it again... my dear friend Lena has sent over another wonderful pair of pants (this time with a matching baby 'scarf') all the way from Oslo. The previous 'farm pants' and 'forest pants' have been hits on the playground and in the German playgroup with Mamas and toddlers alike. Apparently one little girl from our German playgoup could not stop talking about ALL the different animals squeezed onto one tiny pair of pants! A favourite topic that week, her Mama said. Thanks Lenalove, they're gorgeous and I'm gathering Oskar & Emil have matching sets. Can't wait to see pictures!
